I don't care what people say! For orchestrated music, listening to it in lossless (dat 1mb per second), with a good pair of headphones is well worth the extra space!

My Etymotic ER•4's would agree!

Whenever I "borrow" music from my anonymous friends on the internet, I always look for FLAC files.
I generally convert them into 320kbps .MP3 files so I can use portable players, but MS is building-in support for FLAC and MKV files for Windows 10.

That's been a goal of mine. To redo my music library to flac. Kinda not worth it right now because I don't have a good enough DAC and preamp to justify it. BUT I HAVE HEARD THE DIFFERENCE BEFORE. OMG
A truly reference level kit, be it a theater, two Chanel or headphone setup is like lifting the veil of heaven.

You're telling me, I got to listen to a set of B&W 800s with Macintosh amps and it was a beautiful experience.

Yeah, the magnolia store in the u district of seattle does this thing where they'll play whatever people want on a setup kinda like what you mentioned and blast it for everyone. Someone brought in 1812 overture. That was eye opening.
